Anita - Vocals/GuitarAnita Maj has been putting pen to paper and pick to guitar since her early teens and her tunes, inspired by early legends of rock such as Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix, as well as more modern cutting-edge bands like The Killers and Kings of Leon, have only got edgier over time.
The London-based, Northern born artist blends rock, pop and elements of blues and soul into her music, drawing crowds to many of the gigs she has played across the capital such as The Water Rats, Wilmington Arms and The Fly. Anita's lyrics reflect her own true self -- independent, feisty and passionate. But there's also a darker side tinged with pain all achingly brought out in the dynamic live shows.
Anita’s new band has taken the live shows to another level, with the ballsy rhythm section of Greg Hall on Drums and Roger Millington on Bass and the versatile and creative guitar work of Matt Peyman.
With great feedback on her voice and songs from musical aficionados such as from Simon Price (Independent on Sunday) and an upcoming recording with Junk Scientist – acclaimed producer of Larrikin Love and The Rakes – the future’s looking mighty bright. |
