We travelled up north in our little tour bus (OK people carrier) for our first gig outside London, which was in my home county of Yorkshire – Huddersfield University to be precise. Of course we stopped along the motorway service station and GreG and Hugo drove there and back the whole way – we ended up back in London at 3am – rock n roll!
We also passed GreG’s hometown along the way, Nottingham and got lots of childhood stories from GreG. Also we got a puppet show from some schoolgirls on a bus, which started off innocent and degenerated as the afternoon wore on!
The gig itself was great – I saw lots of my schoolfriends who are still based in Yorkshire – special thumbs up to Becki and Jo and we headlined. We had also never played a student venue before and apparently we had more people that The Hoosiers did when they played!! The students were great and one girl was celebrating her 21st birthday – so we sang her happy birthday.
We also had Fish and Chips and mushy peas to round off the night – gorgeous!
