Anita Maj EP review 'The EP opens with 'Nobody's Fool' the raw and seductive melody takes the listener on Anita's journey through frustration and love and not being taken advantage of, the players are clearly feeling it too as the addictive guitar hook takes you over.
One of my faves is 'Out of Control' is one of those songs you definitely want to hear 'live' and one of the more commercial tracks.
If you want to check Anita and the Blues look no further than 'Woman', is it pure escapism or is Anita just toying with the listener? Love this one, check the lyrics you decide.......
Anita continues the running the lyrical thread with 'Don't Forget Me', another gem that works acoustically (they played it on my show) as well as full blown recording, when you hear this you'll murder to hear this at one of her many shows.
'Cigar' is short, punky and visceral ditty of a number, I can imagine the band really letting off on this one, you can imagine Anita probably saying 'guys just go for it...' sweat dripping everywhere, but who cares!.
In contrast we have the beautiful 'I'll Never Know', the opening piano is a surprise, because of that you give the track time to seep into you, the string arrangements are quite breathe taking, best to close your eyes for this to really appreciate the musicianship on here, once again Anita showing she really has an appreciation for melody.
In my opinion 'Don't Believe in Me',the next track, sounds like a homage to Kurt Cobain, another one of my faves, one can only describe this number as 'cool'.
Anita seems at home in the studio, pouring out her heart and soul on every composition, make no mistake, once you get a taste of Anita Maj you'll want more and more and more............................'

Anita Maj live and dangerous Anita Maj struts onto the stage and spellbinds the audience with her first note.
Tonight she is ably assisted with keyboard wizard Adam Day, as she runs through old favourites like 'Don't Forget Me' to new classics such as 'Happy Song'.
With lots of onstage banter with the audience, Anita explains her tales of love and loss with the particularly heart-breaking 'I'll Never Know'.
The set ends with the hypnotic and bluesy 'Woman', with the added twist of bluesy piano licks courtesy of Adam Day.
With the crowd clamouring for more, Anita leaves the stage and we are in no doubt that a star is born.
